As we begin CHARACTER COUNTS! Week, we are called to consider the six key pillars of character. As women of character, we will explore one pillar of character per day. What is citizenship? Citizenship is a call to commit to changing the world around you for the better; to participate in the process of government, and to do your share to help your community improve.
Tonight happens to be the third and final Presidential Debate, and we’re so proud that it will occur at Lynn University, the home of Eta Eta chapter! We have six women of character who will attend tonight’s debate. Aren’t you envious? They will see the dialogue of two very intelligent men who have stepped up in service to our Country. For the next 40 days, Tri Sigma will be engaging in a conversation with you and with our inter-fraternal peers and partners. The conversation has not started today, in fact, this conversation has challenged members of the fraternity and sorority community for decades. Let’s take personal responsibility to dispel the myth that hazing is acceptable in any values based or team based environment. It is easy to support solutions to end hazing. For 40 days leading up to National Hazing Prevention Week (September 24 – 28, 2012), one commonly heard excuse for hazing will be posted via the Twitter accounts for HazingPrevention.Org (@preventhazing) and Tri Sigma. Click in to learn how to participate.

Tabitha Venkersammy, Beta Upsilon – Penn State, is spending a semester working at the Magic Kingdom. We know Tabitha (or @tibbyvenk as she is known on Twitter), has experienced many “magical moments” during her time as a cast member at Disney World. The culture at Walt Disney World invites all staff, or “cast members” as they are also called, to create magical moments for guests whenever possible. What if our values were a focused part of what we brought to our workplace? For some of you, they are. We know the world needs a little more magic, and the values of Tri Sigma – wisdom, power, faith, hope and love have found purpose because of your moments with others. Let’s hear more about Tabitha’s magical moment. Click in to read more!
